Arts Management Fellowship

The Kennedy Center Arts Management Institute Fellowship provides 10 mid-career arts managers with academic training and practical work experience at the nation’s cultural center, one of the world’s largest and most dynamic performing arts institutions.  Fellows study with senior staff in weekly seminars (strategic planning, development, finance, and marketing), and complement that study with practical work rotations in three departments.

THE CULTURAL POINTS INITIATIVE IN BRAZIL

The Brazilian Ministry of Culture established in 2003 the edict for Cultural Points. This action aims to enhance cultural initiatives and projects already developed by communities, groups and networks of collaboration through arrangements with federal entities.

ORACLE Seminar in Luxembourg

The 12th Oracle Seminar will be held in Luxembourg from 22-24 April 2010, featuring plenary think-piece presentations, workshops, one-to-one conversations, research/encounters/exchanges offering ideas for new services and many of the connections and capabilities needed to implement them.

Despite Occasional Stumbles, Arts Policy Advancing under Obama

Though still far less than arts advocates contend is needed, they have high hopes this president could transform cultural policy, funding and arts education for years to come.

New Research report released on cultural development in rural communities

 (April 21, 2009) Vancouver – The Creative City Network of Canada (CCNC) unveils a new project on cultural development in rural communities today. The report, Developing and Revitalizing Rural Communities Through Arts and Creativity, is a comprehensive review of existing and original research and identifies 'best practices' in rural communities and includes information from Canada and around the world. Academic Assessment of Arts Management Journals

The authors report the results of a journal rating survey assessing 14 publications dedicated to arts management and related topics. Establishing a rating scheme for journals is an important step in the professionalization of an academic field. The authors argue that the development of a rating system in arts management is in the best interests of the discipline.
