Call For Papers: 11th International Conference on Arts & Cultural Management
The 11th International Conference on Arts and Cultural Management (AIMAC 2011) will be held in Antwerp, Belgium 3 – 6 July, 2011. Researchers are invited to submit proposals for paper presentations. Proposals from any relevant discipline will be considered, provided they make an original academic contribution to the study of cultural management.This scientific conference will address various sectors of the arts and cultural industries (performing arts and festivals, heritage, museums and visual arts, film production and distribution, book publishing, recording, broadcasting, audiovisual media and multimedia, design).
Abu Dhabi to host major museums congress
A major Congress on the creation, development and management of museums in the Middle East is to be held in Abu Dhabi next June. The Future Museum Congress will run from 7-9th June and will bring together top international speakers and exhibitors from around the world to discuss latest innovations and solutions in museums, and to showcase the latest systems, services and equipment for the fast developing museum business in the Middle East and North Africa.Second FOMECC Honduras call for cultural and creative entrepreneurs
On February 19th the Casa de Cultura de Santa Rosa de Copan, Honduras, in the framework of the “Promotion of Creative and Cultural Industries (FOMECC)” project, organised a public launch of the second call for cultural and creative entrepreneurs. The session included two speeches and the presentation of the results of the first FOMECC Honduras call which has enabled the development of business ideas for seven cultural entrepreneurs, ranging from crafts to performing arts management.

The african organisation CREATE has just released the first Directory of Arts and Culture Organizations & Festivals. The directory is comprised of two sections. The first part lists organizations which are based within the CEMAC region while the second part lists pan-African and global organizations by area of activity.
Cultural Entrepreneurs meet in Yaoundé, Cameroon
As from the 14th to 19th September 2009 twenty six cultural entrepreneurs drawn from the Central African region (Cameroon, Chad, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Central Africa Republic, Burundi) and Mali (West Africa) attended a training seminar on “Cultural policies and development of creative and cultural industries for Central African countries" met in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

New Publishing Partner for Arts Management - Oldest Periodical in Field joined by AAAE
Arts Management (AM), America’s oldest continuing periodical for cultural administrators, trustees and supporters, has a new co-publisher, effective with its January-February 2009 issue. The Association of Arts Administration Educators (AAAE), the international organization of higher education degree programs in arts administration, cultural management, and cultural policy, will be responsible for insuring distribution of the periodical to arts professionals throughout the world.
